Cornwall Projects We've Built
L W Construction takes on the bigger jobs as well as the everyday ones — ground-up new builds, two-storey and wrap-around extensions, stonework and repointing on older Cornwall property, garden walls and structural blockwork, full renovations across the county. Some of these are large premium homes; some are a single trade done properly on a smaller job. We document the major ones here as they finish.
This is the portfolio. Each project gets its own page — what the customer wanted, the site, how the build went, who worked on it, the result, and a full set of photos. We add a new one every quarter as builds complete.

What We Document and Why
Every major Cornwall project we finish gets written up here. The build is the work; the portfolio is the proof we did it.
How we document a project. When a job completes we write up what the customer asked for, the site (planning, ground conditions, anything that shaped the build), how the work went, the finished result with proper photography, and who worked on it — named, where they're happy to be named.
Every write-up follows the same layout — what they wanted, the site, what we did, who worked on it, the result, photos, related projects. Same level of detail every time, so you can fairly judge whether the work we've done before is the kind of work you need.
Updated every quarter. We add at least one new project every three months. Bigger builds run 6-12 months, and we usually have a handful worth documenting completing each year.
Why we bother. When someone's spending serious money on a home, they research properly before they call. A portfolio answers the first question anyone asks: "Has this builder done my kind of job before?" That's a fair question, so we keep this page honest, photographed, and current.
Featured Project

Chilli Road, Illogan — two 2-bed new-build homes
Two new two-bedroom homes built ground-up at Chilli Road in Illogan — timber-frame construction, finished in Wildstone, with open-plan living, fitted kitchens, tiled bathrooms and finished rear patios. A complete new build from foundations through to a handover-ready finish.

More Recent Cornwall Work
Alongside the featured project, here's other work we've completed across Cornwall. Full write-ups for these are being added to the portfolio as the photo sets are finished.

The Kinds of Job We Take On
A rough idea of the work we cover:
- Ground-up new builds, including larger one-off family homes and self-builds
- House extensions — single-storey, two-storey, wrap-around, and extensions on older and period property
- Garden rooms, orangeries and glazed outdoor living spaces built as proper rooms
- Bricklaying and blockwork — lime-mortar repointing, granite and slate walling, sympathetic work in conservation areas
- Bespoke brickwork — curved walls, garden features, decorative detail
- Residential chimney rebuilds on period Cornwall property (residential scope only)
- Groundworks on sloping or tight plots — site clearance, foundations and drainage to the engineer's spec
If your job fits any of that — or you're not sure whether it does — call Luke and we'll talk it through honestly. We do the everyday work too, not just the big jobs.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often do you add new projects?
At least one new write-up every quarter, sometimes more depending on the build calendar. Bigger jobs run 6-12 months, so a handful a year is typical. We don't pad the portfolio — every project here is a real Cornwall build, photographed, with named credits where people are happy to be named.
Can I get a job like one of these done?
Yes — that's the point of the portfolio. If you've seen something here that's close to what you have in mind — a new build, an extension, a brickwork, a renovation — call Luke and we'll arrange a site visit. We can usually tell you in the first conversation whether it's the kind of job we do, roughly how the build would run, and which Cornwall trades we'd put on it.
Do you work with architects?
Yes — a lot of the bigger new builds and extensions we do are designed by an architect. We build to their drawings, go to the site meetings, and put any queries in writing so there's a clear record. We don't replace your architect — we work alongside them. If you haven't got one yet, we can point you to Cornwall and South West firms we've worked with before.
Got a Cornwall project in mind?
Whether it's a new build, a two-storey extension, stonework on an older property, or a full renovation — talk it through with Luke directly.
